Both for international and domestic sales there is a need for warehousing, shipping, documentation, forwarding, etc. Our staff will assist with these services. Depending on the type of product and transaction, we will coordinate with reliable providers and take care of all the documentation involved. From customs clearing to transportation all the way to the final customer, WEAVER takes care of all the details. We utilize only companies that have a proven track record and with whom we have had a long successful relationship. For example, one of the companies that WEAVER has secured the services of is one of the top ten logistics companies in the world, ABX Logistics, which just recently incorporated Thyssen-Haniel Logistics, then Europe's number two. In the U.S. alone, ABX has 20 offices across the country.
WEAVER can offer insurance coverage for any related requirements such as transit and warehousing. Under an umbrella policy, WEAVER's coverage starts from the shipper's plant and continues through to the customer's warehouse. And because WEAVER has preferred rates with its underwriter, we can pass along the savings to our business partners.
Considering that the buyer in most cases may not be comfortable with sending money in advance, or that the seller will not extend payment terms to a company he has never dealt with especially overseas, WEAVER usually operates as principal.
WEAVER's staff is fully knowledgeable in all the intricacies of working with letters of credit and any of its variations. We have been transacting for years with some of the world's leading banking institutions and we understand how to help our customers get the security they require.
More recently, many companies are resorting to escrow services as a way to reduce some of their financial costs. Weaver offers this service for those buyers and sellers that request an independent and reliable third party and prefer not to use a banking institution. WEAVER will receive funds from the buyer and will hold them in a segregated account until the products have been inspected, approved and satisfactorily received by the buyer. Only then will Weaver release payment to the supplier.
Whenever necessary, WEAVER will contract for the above services prior to shipment or at arrival in the city / port of destination. Independent contractors, selected by Weaver on behalf of the user, will perform these operations. One of those contractors is the SGS Group, the oldest, largest, and most prestigious worldwide organization offering verification, testing, assessment, certification and other related services. SGS, which is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, operates in more than 140 countries. In mainland China, for example, SGS has the largest contingency of any internationally recognized inspection and verification company.
Both domestically and internationally, WEAVER can help with the hurdles usually imposed by customs regulations at any port of entry. By aligning itself with a network of key worldwide customs-brokers, Weaver is able to provide a door-to-door clearing and delivery service.
